Not everyone loves school. In fact George Bernard Shaw said his education was interrupted by his schooling!! Yet there are many compelling reasons to stick it out, get the best education you can and then leave school never to look back.
In a report written by Bernard (yes another Bernard) Salt, published in the Australian on March 1st 2018, he included a graph of median wages (see below). It clearly shows the following: anyone leaving school immediately after year 9 is likely to be poor. 336,000 Australian workers only got that far and the highest median income for this group was $43K at age 31 with little income growth going forward.
Compare that to the other end of the scale where some 727,000 workers who have some form of postgraduate qualification making them highly skilled earned a peak median income of $110,000 at age 52.
If there was only 1 reason for staying at school it would surely have to be this.
